1 What is the Roxbury A club and hotel that exists outside of time, and yet touches every time and space. Yeah, don't ask. Even the managers don't know how or why
2 How do you get there? Your character has to find the right door, by purpose or accident, and say the right words. Make them up. Have fun. It could be the door to the secret bathroom in Hogwarts, while saying, "No, Ginny, I don't want a Lemon Drop," for one pup and the door to the Potions dungeon while reciting the Chudley Canon's song for another.
3 What does the Roxbury look like? The biggest, best night club your pup can think of. If they're magical there will be magical games laying around, and butter beer. If they're a Klingon there will be weapons and lots of people backing away slowly. The weapons will be holograms, but that's beside the point.
4 Does my Money work here? yes. The Roxbury management likes money. Any money. All money.
5 Can I run a Tab? yes. But only so long before the bouncers come for you. You don't want that. Really.
6 Who are the bouncers? Really tall people who you cant kill, outrun, fool, or in any way incapacitate or get away from. Or Bribe. Just don't do it.
7 Can I work there? Yes! The hotel, restaurant, and bar all will employ you, but it will require threading. Contact a mod first and an IC thread will be arranged with the relevant head of whatever you want to do. The jobs are currently all available, and some are better than others.
8 You mentioned a hotel. Can I stay there? Yes! They will take your money, too! They also like money, All money. Any money. Rooms can come in almost any configuration, Doubles, Singles, suites, yada , yada. As long as you can pay, you can stay. You can also work in the hotel, if that's your preference.
9 What kind of Music does the club play? No matter what, it plays music from your time period that you will enjoy. Each person hears what will make them happy. Sometimes? That can get really weird. When the Klingons came, it was odd... really odd. The magic of the place is such that characters will hear their own music, unless they are dancing together, in which case they will hear some sort of amalgam of the music they both like best. Concert pianists tend to avoid dancing with deathcore rockers for this reason.
10 Can My underage character be there? Yes. No alcohol, but they can be there. Drinking age is 18, and enforced by the bartenders. If you're sneaky, you can get some type of alcohol, but only a little before the bouncers catch you.
11 Are PBs required? Play with a picutre of a golf ball for all we care. Whether or not others will play with you, that is up to them.
12 Can I have an Original character? Yes, on a case by case basis. This will require you to do more work and write more to show us the character is fleshed out. But we welcome them gladly. A well thought out OC is often more fun to play with than a stolen character.
13 Who's running this place, anyway? ICly, nobody knows. Messages come through the mailboxes in the hotel, or show up in worker's lockers in the Grey Room, and the real owner is never seen. Even the management team doesn't know the answer to that question.
OOCly, Sam and Panther are the mods, and they are contactable in many, many ways. There is a comment post, you can e-mail them, both through the mod account, or their personal e-mails, and you can catch them, sometimes, on AIM.
14 My character has a lot of important/sentimental/nifty stuff. Can they bring it along? Not precisely. The Roxbury tends to hold on to pups for a week or two after their arrival, just so they realize they're not on drugs. During this time, and any other time the pups come in, they can ask the bartender or call room service to put in a request for small items. Cars will be put in the parking garage under the hotel (along with other means of transport, like space ships, mecha, or things like that). Everything else must be small enough to fit in the owner's hotel room. All items requested must be owned by the patron, or non-specific. You can't ask for your parent's cell phone, but you can ask for one exactly like it, and access to a phone book full of numbers that you had in your desk drawer.
15 What's the point of the hotel, exactly? While there's drinking dancing, and various other shenanigans, and the Roxbury club is the first thing everyone sees, the hotel is the part that's open 24 hours a day. There's a library, a video library, a spa/pool area, and a coffee shop/restaurant/bar. For ten hours a day the Nightclub door is locked and patrons can't get inside while it does maintenance. Pups that prefer quiet may just stick to the hotel, which will expand to fill all needs.
16 Can I have my character leave anytime? No. They can enter and leave from the Roxbury club anytime during the hours the club is open. However, when the club is closed, no one can exit, and they are stuck in the Hotel and its surroundings until the club opens again.
